It too was widely used at grandma’s house, whether she served a rustic stew, made tomato sauce for a delicate pasta dish or cooked a simple sauce as an accompaniment to the meat of the evening. The tomatoes have a thick pulp, few kernels and a low level of acid. The taste is rich and balanced sweetness.
