Product description

The vibration of Shino enamel is at its peak on this sculpture of a cat in a kimono holding a mask. Invented in Japan in the 16th century, used for 60 years then forgotten until 1940, reinvented from the 1970s, Shino is very difficult to obtain because it is sensitive to the slightest change. Finely cracked and oscillating from white to bright orange, its beautiful transparency highlights the blue decorations created prior to the engobes. Although small, 28 cm tall, Haruna has a strong presence. Her warm shades catch the light and she seems different at different times of the day.
